I would like to say thanks to big Chris Beattie for his
years of toil in the blue black and white. Some say he
hasn't been at his best in resent seasons and of course
they are entitled to that view. Injury probably curbed Beats
Rampaging that he brought us early as a recruit from
QLD, but you cannot take away his dedication and
genuine love of the club. He has won many CLUBMAN awards
and is always the centre of social functions and fundraisers
at the club.

Thanks for being a Shark Beats, you served long and hard
and will be always remembered as a hard bugger who played
hard and with passion and pride for the sharkies.

Good luck in the future and whatever club that will be at, you
deserve an injury free run and to earn some good money.

Yep injuries including a well documented back problem have hampered him in the past couple of seasons.

Age has also caught up with big fella.

Certainly served the club well and gave the club starch in the pack when we were badly soft.

Not pointless at all. I just wanted to be the first to register my thanks for the blokes great service at our club.

He won't be playing for us next season, that's written in stone.

awwwww man. For a while he was my favourite sharkies player. When I first saw him in PL, my mate was like "whos that guy? Hes awesome, hes so big I bet he ate his peas and carrots when he was a kid.......and everone elses" from then on, he was known as "peas and carrots" to us.
I had so much fun yelling out Go Peas and Carrots! Boy did I get some strange looks. Then everyone started calling him beetroot. Weird.

Last year my bro was in Tradies and sees good ol' Peas and Carrots across the room, my bro considers himself to be a bit of a hardarse, so he goes up to Beats and is all like " Hey! Punch me in the arm, as hard as you can. Garn! Youre not so tough, I can take it blah blah blah." So without hesitation, Beats looks him in the eye, winds up and is like Wham! He slams him, right in the shoulder. My bro had to go home, ice it, and he couldnt move for a coupla days. Very funny stuff.


I was hoping hed make a devastating return to form. What a drag.
