BEECHWOOD rugby league club has signed Brad Maggs and Austin Bell as dual coaches for the 2004 sesaon.
Club spokesperson, Kevin Pampling said Maggs had been involved in a coaching role along with Chris Eggert when the Shamrocks won the Hastings League premiership just two years ago.
"And in more good news for the Shamrocks, we have signed the Hastings Co-operative Ltd as our major sponsor for the 2004 Hastings League season," Pampling said.
"This is just fantastic news for the Shamrocks. While the Co-op are our new major sponsors, we will continue to have a very close relationship with the Beechwood Hotel too.
"The club believed that the Co-op sponsorship would give us a wider angle and give us a better perspective.
"The Shamrocks will hold a Christmas party on Saturday December 20 at Rocks Ferry Reserve from 1pm.
"We would invite any association with the Shamrocks to come along and meet the new coaching staff and just have a fun day with the kids. There will be a couple of ski boats available and, weather permitting, it should be a good day."
The Hastings Co-operative Ltd sponsorship involves the IGA Supermarket along with manager Alan Swan, the Department Store and manager Robert Hinkson and the Bulk Fuel Supplies with Brien Clarke.
Mr Clarke said the Co-op was pleased to be involved as the major sponsor for the Shamrocks.
"We will have signage and our names on jumps, sleeves and supporters shirts and other Shamrocks memorabilia," he said.
"We are very happy about this sponsorship – which returns the Co-op into football sponsorship for the first time in many years – and will even see the Co-op involved in selling Shamrocks merchandise through our stores.
"The Co-op is getting right behind football
