Six String Brewing Dark Red IPA. Has the IPA down pat. But a red beer it is not, more like a dark ale. A sound drink, but I am disappointed because I was expecting a red beer.

I bought some beer last weekend and notice that fosters was available

I hadn't seen that since the 90's

Next up powers will be available again

I didn't buy the fosters but wondered why the f**k they have brought it back ?

retro appeal and a way to get a branded lower ABV beer into the market without pissing off vb drinkers etc by reducing alcohol in a known more popular brand..

new fosters, or 'fosters classic' is around the 4% mark (could be 4.2 or so, i CBF'd checking)..

the regular fosters was still a good drop.. My local stocked it and i would purchase that ahead of vb or Carlton if i wanted a standard beer..

why'd they need to screw with it?

Fosters never went anywhere and is still 4.9%, unless they've changed it in the last month....it's just no merkins buy it. I sell a few slabs a week to one old fella otherwise I wouldn't even carry it. Plus it's gone up to about $52 a case.
