Beer Thread

Once you live there for a while, you will know where the cheap piss is. When I was at UOW, the nearest bottlo to me was good for bulk package (fancy talk for casks + flagons). If you wanted a good price on beer though, you had to drive to Figtree (where the price of Heineken hasn't changed since I started Uni down there in 2006). Hahn Ice there was $32 a go. That shit got me a credit average, up from a pass average when I was only on my Grandfather's home made Scotch (best Scotch go ever come out of Peakhurst Heights).

Anyone tried the beer club on beer cartel?

As alluded to in the "What are you eating" thread. Kereru has a Karengose. Slightly salty taste, but goes perfectly with seafood IMO.

Tun is literally the worst beer I have ever subjected myself to.

Even taking into account it's a full strength beer, it tastes watery as piss. Just disgusting.

Six more cans and I'm free.

If you need a different cheapie, try Tasman Bitter. It's basically repackaged Boats Draught made for Coles. Liquorland or 1st Choice are the options for you.

You're thinking Hammer and Tongs, which was made by Boags many years ago. But it isn't any more, all Coles home brand stuff is made by either Lion or Hawthorn brewing, although they're looking for a new contract to brew Hammer and Tongs

Just go with Uberbrau. It tastes like generic German lager, which is fine for $30 a slab

I thought Tasman was the one contract brewed by Lion, hence the Boags Draught in a different bottle. Last time I had it, it would have been 2006 or 2007.

Whoever brews (and buys) Hammer N Tongs should be shot and have their graves pissed on, it is the worst beer in Australia.

Burleigh Brewing Dark Date Ale. As the name suggests, it's a dark ale brewed with dates. Definitely get the dark ale part, but the date part is lacking. As a dark ale it's a nice enough drink.

Driving through Woodend, had to stop at the holgate brewery.

Grabbed a bottle Of Barrel aged Belgian Quadrupel and a bottle of Imperial mocha porter.

Downing a Marzen style now, very smooth.
