After watching Benji again today I believe he is lacking in ticker, he doesn't want to be tackled and this is why there are so many mistakes in his game.Yes I know it looks spectacular when things come off but how many times is the pass too hard?balls thrown over the sideline, panic kicks into opposition players, and poor clearing kicks on the 5th tackle. How many times does he take the line on these days?

Don`t worry about Benji, when he has players around him running hard and fast onto the ball , he is the best player in the comp bar none. Have a look at the way Manly`s back rowers, centres and fullbacks run onto the footballer and compare it to ours, that`ll show you the difference between the two sides. Manly`s players genuinely want to hurt the opposition, our players bar a few run half hearted and only tackle because they have to.
In saying this we have the players to turn it around by the finals, but a few have to disappear from first grade or we are no hope of winning the comp !

so have i.

benji isnt the problem, its that we are coached to run off a standing start at the markers. thats the problem.

my problem with benji is that after a terrible set instead of roosting the ball downfield he tries to make up for it by running the ball on the last from inside our own 40. this works about 5% of the time.

Peter Sterling used to pride himself on going through entire games without being tackled as it was in his best interests and the teams best interests... Maybe Sterling was playing under instruction... maybe Benji is playing under instruction...

Benji's got plenty of problems upstairs which lead to the ludicrous sh*t he does on the field. Dogging tackles isn't one of them though.

Benji would never score *that* try that he did against Cronulla in 2005, simply because he never tries to run through the line anymore.
