I don't follow the Broncos but the amazing decision to get rid of Walters, Belcher and Lazurus as assistant coaches (all of whom would probably be successful senior coaches) sounds like someone is making decisions to protect his own position.

IT was the day of the long knives at the Brisbane Broncos yesterday with head coach Wayne Bennett sacking former internationals and Queensland legends Kevin Walters, Gary Belcher and Glenn Lazarus from the coaching staff.

Bennets arrogance is astounding.Everyone knows he's the organ grinder up there,he calls the shots yet he passes on the blame to others.

Walters didn't last long as Toowoomba coach, he showed he wasn't up to coaching alone yet and got moved to assist Bennett. How were they to know for certain he wasn't a good coach? They tried him, he failed so they moved him from the role.

Are you sure, I thought he coached them after that. I thought he only coached them for a year or two before being replaced.

he looks to be well behind 'Snoopy' Collins and Dave Furner for the top job once they arse Elliott, whilst with no Kevvie and Bellamy looking pretty sweet down in Melbourne the broncos are lacking an understudy for Bennett
