Taylor was sacked for off-field tomfoolery if you recall - the learning curve of a young rookie coach (sound familiar?). In any case, is simply being sacked enough to rule someone so incompetent that a complete rookie is preferred? btw I'm pretty sure David Waite was sacked by the Knights a couple years before we hired him. He turned out pretty well

If you think it's ok to turn up to Mad Monday and end up getting punched by one of your own players, chances are you're not cut out to coach at NRL level. Taylor is yet to prove otherwise.

Ironically, I also recall Taylor's last game in charge of Rabbitohs - he dropped legend David Peachey for the must win game.

We were in contention for the 8 around the August period last year too, when McGregor's coaching was woefully exposed in a few key games and we fell away. The good teams (and coaches) are really cracking the whip at this time and the signs were certainly there on Friday night that we are potentially in trouble

Welcome back, grouch. I've missed you.

Rookie coaches eh? Best when they learn their trade at other clubs imo

Just exactly what is a halfbacks job if not to make metres. Might also include the 5/8 if you want to call them that because when we have Widdop and Benji on the field they are halves ie on one eaxh side of paddock. When they link they might be halfback and 5/8 that radely happens. First JDB is not a half he is a forward.
A halves job IMO is to make metres either by running the ball kicking for field position and setting up play for others to make metres. If fact it is every players job to make metres and score tries off the back of that.
In Broncos game Hutch should have started the game and against Penrith should be on the bench just in case Benji breaks down again. He also is big enough to play lock if someone needs a spell. This is a must win game but dont be afraid to try something different which Mary tried last week but failed.
