as you would have no doubt realised i have a lot of hatred for that stupid purple team (and any other team for that matter) and wasnt particuarly impressed about losing to them in the way that we did. we are a good enough side to smash them off the park (which we did at times) but.... 1. that constant fear of good players that we have just SICKENS me! Why cant we just TACKLE slater, inglis, gasnier, anasta, carney? Great players but never as good as we make them look. 2. the bellamy style of play is boring. tackle zero, give it to turner or quinn to come in and desperatly attempt to milk a penalty. tackle 1-3, give it to their big forwards to make a few metres. Tackle 4, spread it to inglis to try and barge through/over. Tackle 5, kick to the corner. Every set, all the same, until they are winning then they'll try some stupid sh!t (aka billy magic). So predictable yet so frustrating to sit there and watch it work. 3. the way the manipulate the ref. more than happy to give away a few early penalties because they know the ref will slow up because a lopsided penalty count will make him look bad. niggling in every ruck. holding down in every tackle. quinn/turner suffering from epileptic fits and gunshot wounds in every tackle. STILL grappling all the time. smith and crocker almost in tears whilst talking/whinging to the ref (actually that was pretty funny... "benji pushed me first sob sob"). theyre a team of whinging cheats and the nrl would be a better comp without them.
as for the tigers, i still think any benji bashers are crazy, whilst a few things he does are off hes offering a lot more. the only pass he put over the sideline shoulda landed flat on fultons (?) chest but he let it go to no-one. would be much better back in the 6 with a HALFBACK inside of him. He would be carving up again with less responsibility and expectation. as for teo i thought a fortnight off after the spray would spur him up a bit but obviously not. he puts one good hit on but still made 45 mtrs in attack as per usual. id rather have laurie out there sucking in the big ones and not doing anything, at least he seems to fire the team up a bit when hes on the paddock. tuiaki is starting to do a little more but imo is still the number 2 winger behind beau ryan. i reckon the kid is fantastic and how hes our number 3 in sheen's eyes is beyond me. and payne doesnt deserve a spot in state cup, dont even have to justify this comment.
