Harvey Howard for a bench spot?

Nice troll from the OP however.

Anyone mention Mal Reilly yet?

Roger Millward would surely be the 5/8 in any pommy team named, whether pommies who have played in the NRL/ARL/NSWRL or the greatesr ever English team.

Remember Schofield and Hanley spent more time at Western Suburbs then Balmain.

Move Schofield to fullback.

Agree on Millward was a star when he played in Australia.

Schofield and Hanley played 3 years at Balmain and only a season at Wests.

What about other English players such as Steve "Knocker" Norton, Brian Lockwood who was a super skillful forward, Big Jim Mills, Gary Stephens who played in Manly's premiership of 1976, Henderson Gill, John Gray who was a major force in getting Norths to the semis after a 16 year drought.
Lee Crooks. Andy Gregory and Steve Hampson nearly won the mid week cup for Illawarra in '89. Eric Hughes and Mick Adams were stars for Canterbury in 1976. Adrian Morley at the Roosters..........

You are correct I forget about Martin Offiah. Best winger who ever played in the NRL, bar none.

So here is the team of British players who played in an NRL/ARL/NSWRL team. This is not a team who visited Australia with the Great Britain selection. They actually played in the Australian competition.

Sam Tomkins (NZ Warriors)

Joe Lydon (Easts), Ellery Hanley (Balmain), Gary Schofield (Balmain), Andy Currier (Balmain)

David Bolton (Balmain)
Tommy Bishop (Cronulla)

Malcolm Reilly (Manly)
Dick Huddart (St George), Sam Burgess (Souths)
Cliff Watson (Cronulla), Mike Stephenson (Penrith) Adrian Morley (Easts/Sydney Roosters)
What old better brakes, the best winger to play nrl, you do realise that defence is 50% of the game,

Interchange: James Graham (Canterbury), George Burgess (Souths), Bill Ashurst (Penrith), Phil Clarke (Easts)

18th man: Tom Burgess (Souths),

You're correct, thought Schofield and Hanley played 2 years with the Maggies, maybe Hanley was signed for 2 years but didn't fulfil the contract due to injury.

Roger (the Dodger) Millward, almost singlehanded won the test series for poms in the early 70s; last time they won a series against the Kangaroos.

There have been plenty of good pommy footballers play in Qz, but there have been a lot of shithouse ones too.

How could I forget the great roger the dodger, hope non of my Rovers mates are reading this!

There are probably two or three squads you could name that would be gf winners in their hay day. Plenty of great English RL players have played down under.

Maybe we should be listing all the English players who have played in Australia.

David Topliss who stared with Balmain and Penrith in the mid 70's was another classy English five eighth.
