Best guitar solos you've heard

1. Eruption ( VH) What can I say? probably the most influential solo of all time and a solo that transformed the way the guitar sounds. Influenced an entire generation of players including the likes of Vai, Malmstein, Satriani, Dimebag Darrell. His solo is still one of the most complex i've seen, and after 10 years of playing it i still cannot quite get it right on one or two notes, not to mention the speed you need to totally pull it off.

2. Top Gun theme ( Steve Stevens) What a gun solo, f**king love it. Learnt how to play it a few years ago just because it's frikken beautiful.

3. Comfortably Numb ( Live Pink Floyd) has a solo ever fitted a song so well? love th elive version just at the end of it where he slides the B & E strings down from 17th or 19th fret to about the 13th or 15th?.

4. Master of Puppets ( Metallica) not the biggest Metallica fan but they did know there solos well in their early days, and Master of Puppets is just fantastic.

5. Surfing with the alien ( Satch) unreal, f**king loved playing this on the guitar, i use to divebomb it so bad from the 12th fret on the D haha, always a good solo to show off at parties.

I always loved that guitar solo or tapping sequence in Bill & Teds where ruffus and the boys get into the phone booth for the first time, also when they go to that place where they play "cool music"

I'm not sure about the best, but the solo from "Shook Me All Night Long" is probably the most addictive and infectious I've heard!

love the solo in Time by pink floyd. like comfortably numb i think this solo just fits with the song brilliantly. love it, nothing flashy just pure greatness.

solo in go your own way by nofx/bad religion on the s&m airlines album is pretty whack for a sh*tty punk band.

Read some books deepthroat, might learn something about the evolution of the guitar, and also a chapter on wankers you cannot play guitar:arrow: John Frusciante
