90 has been cut down to the top 30, the 2nd round will consist of 6 contests featuring 5 guitarists each, the top 2 in each group will go through to form the Top 12.

Matt Bellamy for me again, because frankly he will need the votes up against someone like Hendrix.

And, lets face it, most people are only voting for Hendrix because it has been drilled into them that he is the best. He makes great music, sure, but he is in no way the greatest guitar player.

He will ride the wave of nostalga into the final.

My knowledge of great guitarists is limited, but what i know about all instruments, all forms of music, is that it's about making great music. Most of my favourite pieces of guitar play probably wouldn't be considered anywhere near the hardest to play.

Im not saying Jimi is the greatest btw. I wouldn't know because like i said i dont know enough about all the great guitarists; im just pointing out that it should be about one thing and one thing only - making great music..not belting the sh*t out of the guitar like few in history can to make a noise, as opposed to music.

If you are going to talk about the greatist pianist in the world, odds are the person probably does not write his own songs. Its no different on any other instrument

It should be a combination of both.

The music must be good, otherwise you wouldn't bother listening, but at the same time I want to hear musicians. I don't want to listen to something of the 16-year-old kid next door can play it just as well.

I mean, why do we watch the NRL? Because it is the elite competition.

Knowing Jimi would go through with ease I voted for Bellamy, might be biased being a Muse fan, but out of the remaining 4, he's my favourite.
