Best is best at Centre

Best had a good year in the centres last year, but wasn't so crash hot on the wing. I'd move him back into the centres and have Graham and Purtell on the wings. Thoughts?

Definitely. I'm really surprised the coach can't see it.

Graham has done nothing in the centres - apart from one match against the Panthers last year - move him onto the wing.

TBH I'd rather see Goodwin given a chance on the wing ahead of Best and give Graham another couple of chances at centre.

Best was very good at centre last year. I think Henry wanted to trial Monas back in the centres where he was very good for the chooks.

IF Henry was to make any changes, it would be to get rid of Purts and Monas on the right side. They are awful in lateral defence and Newc exploited them a few times. Rotate Monas and Best between centre and wing during the game could be an idea.

Monaghan is a top notch defender. The problem is Purtell. Doesn't matter who he is paired up with his positional play in defense is terrible.

I love the guy and I want him in the team but I really wish the coaching staff and Purts could get that sorted.

Best was statisically our best centre last year
Thats where he should play. And IMO, he should be there ahead of Purtell. Graham to the wing (he's better under the high ball too imo) and Best to Centre
Bronx on the wing. Purtell to Souths Logan

I agree 69, but the coach wont relegate Purtell. Unfortunatley it will be Best at Logan if anything.

graheme has more then proved himself in his years at centre, purtell also excelled when placed there last year monas should be out on the wing with goodwin. Best has had ample time to prove himself he is not first grade material and i cant see him getting any better

nonsibi, i wonder how many games of Best you watched last year
looking at it game time wise and then seeing the stats today, Best was our most consistant centre last year, of those who played more then 5 times.

Still have memories of last year when Carney threw that long cut out pass that hit Best right on the chest and would have been through but dropped it cold. Cant catch, cant draw and pass. Shouldnt be in the centres.

That was one area I was super critical of him last year.... What annoys me the most is the fundamental errors our side continually does. Draw and Pass - classic u/14, u/15 drills.
