Best post match speeches ever

Special congratulations must go to the Panthers players for their brilliant post match interviews and speeches. Absolute comedy classics, especially Luke Priddis saying that the Roosters were the best team all year "attackively". Rhys Wesser's speech was unbelievable, he's one of the most serious guys I have ever seen in my life, it sounded like he was accepting an Academy Award, while Craig Gower just looked like he was gonna explode. Joe Galuvao cryed and even sleepy Tony Puletua looked slightly excited. Great stuff.

A highlight for me, too.

Is there anything those Panthers can't do?

Priddis ratified his academic cred with a nelogism at perhaps the greatest moment of his life. Not only can he deliver under on-field pressure, but performs just as well under the glare of the media spotlight. Soon be Prof. Priddis.

Honourable mentions:

* Captain Gower for the use of not one, but two, pieces of working-class jargon in the space of one minute.

* John Howard for holding a quasi-smile while Gower performed said jargon.

* Wesser for giving the impression he had spent the last eighty minutes at his local rather than playing in the NRL grand final.

I found it slightly ironic that Clinton and Martin Lang gave the most controlled, proficient interviews - Clinton on the basis of his dubious past and Lang for his apparent lucidness (well, excluding the slurred speech) after a long career of being on the receiving end of brain-damaging tackles.

I found it a bit annoying though, that NONE of the players publicly thanked John Lang for coaching them. And John Howard came to OUR Grand Final, but didn't have the time for the AFL. :D :D

Howard aint got no soul to sell! That fire sale happened years ago!

Reminds me of the second SOO, when Howard walked into the room to congratulate Joey. Joey, the coalminers unionists son, never got off his chair to shake his hand!

Gotta thank the hoodoo gurus for turning up at panthers to perform later in the night. Even if it were so impromptu that they were using some old bins for drums
