He is sh*t. Rokocoko, Howlett and Sivivatu are all much better players. The would be the best in both codes. League lacks good wingers at the moment.

Caucau could have been the best winger in the world if he'd had the inclination to, but like many before him, he wasted his potential. Rockocoko is miles ahead of the fat bastard now. In fact I'd take Jonah, transplanted kidney and all, because at least he tried, even when his kidneys were packing up on him.

Rupeni is a freak. Sivivatu, Rokocoko etc have nothing on him in terms of talent. I heard he was going well in France as well, but I could be mistaken.

Of course I would prefer Sivivatu or Rokocoko as they are more likely to turn up in shape and give 100% effort.

The best winger in the world is Rokocoko imo.

Caucau is the David Tua of Rugby. Born with the sort of gifts that cant be taught, but unwilling or too lazy to learn what can.

Pity he didn't sign with the Broncos would have love to see him in League, I agree with the general thoughts in this thread he has soooo much talent but no willpower or character for that matter.(Didn't he skip international duties last year cause he didn't feel like playing?)

I think the best in order are: Rockocko, Tuqiri, Habana I don't about Sivivatu yet because he hasn't played any tests against good opposition yet.

Yeah I would agree. Rupeni at his best beats anyone by a country mile. He is a deadset freak.

The thing that pissed me off about Rupeni was his conditioning or lack of it, he was often injured or unfit.

From what I've seen against the British Lions, super 12, NPC and All black trials, Sivivatu is very, very similar to Rupeni, same sort of build, great footwork, acceleration, probably RUpeni is abit quicker but I rate Sivivatu very highly and I know Lote Tuqiri does too.

I'm not convinced about Habana just yet, he's very quick but I haven't seen him score the tries that smokin Joe and Sitiveni score on a regularly basis, i.e beating about 5 defenders in open play.

I still remember that game when he got chased down by that lock. He was fat as, but still sidestepping dudes everywhich way.

However, id have Sivivatu and Rokocoko anyday. Jonah in his prime too.

Actually imo Rupeni is by far the slowest of the players mentioned thus far. You're right, Sivivatu is a similar sort of player, he just doesn't *quite* have the same indefinable brilliance that Rupeni has/had. Even when he was fat and unfit, Rupeni could beat 5 tacklers while looking totally disinterested, just through his step, swerve, and strength.

The funny thing is everyone remembers when he got run down in the game against Waikato a few years back, but I remember that game and he actually had a blinder, even though he was about 105kg and was probably doing about a 14 second 100 metres.

I'd still take any of the 3 All Blacks wingers, Howlett, Rockocoko, Sivivatu. Poor Doug Howlett often gets no mention in these sorts of things, but his try scoring record in test match football is quite phenomonal. 41 tries in 47 tests or something like that. Now thats a fair strike rate. Only really Joe Rockocoko can compare, and I mean he's a genius.

Good points mates.

As i live in England i never watched Rupeni in the super 12's.

I just remember his world lass performances in the world cup.

If he had signed for Brisbane then i have no doubts that he would be lean and fit.

Whats the deal with the All blacks wingers ? are they on international contracts or something ? i'd love the likes of Sivivatu and Rockocoko switch codes.

Howlett is the consumate professional - he may not have the flash of the Rock or Sivi, but he's got a ton of pace, he's defensively solid and the most clinical finisher in the game, give him a half chance and he'll finish it every time.

Are you sure? I remember that early in the game he made this amazing winding run, I'm not sure if he scored or passed it to someone else who scored. Then off course he got run down by Duley, but he had already made a break and run 70 metres in the first place.

Very tough on Joe Rokocoko not being able to make the starting XV vs England. Howlett and Sivivatu will do a great job though. I'm not a massive Gear fan, but anyone of the 4 wingers would play well. Great position for the selectors to be in.

he got subbed off after that tackle as he was too winded.
