Best Young Point Guard?

Imo its Chris Paul, the way he plays and the energy he brings just lifts those around him and he is improving so much in such a quick amount of time, will soon overtake Nash etc. and become the premier point guard in the NBA. Just behind him is Deron Williams but i have Paul just in front.

Before everyone kicks up a stink, honourable mentions to Devin Harris, Mo Williams, Monta Ellis, Rajon Rondo and T.J. Ford, who are all great young point guards, but clearly not in the same league as the aforementioned three.

Monta Ellis is not a point guard, he can fill in there but he is a SG in a PGs body

Chris Paul is the best young point i believe, his ability is second to none, he is clutch also

Too tough to call.

I'd have either Chris Paul or Deron Williams running my team. Both are very good 1's.

Although Paul is one of my favourites.

Maybe not as explosive scorer as Paul but he is the perfect team player which is what is needed at PG

I gotta give TP some wraps though. Slowly developing some range on jump shots and FT%, but his FG% is always up amongst the best power forwards and centres. IMO his assists per game are good for the type of game that the Spurs play with out his average being overly high like Paul and Deron.

Put him in a run and gun offense, and he'll drop 25 and 8 ever game. Another one of Popovich's draft gems.

If i was to build a team from scratch I'd take Deron. Close call but as you would be happy with either. CP3 is very good but, it seems people sleep on him alot these days.

Problem is CP3 is never on ESPN over these ways. That said I've seen Deron a bit and he's very solid.

I'd take Jordan Farmar as the best, he isn't as talented as the guys in the poll but he is more of a floor leader.

Jordan Farmar is no where near the level as mentioned above, all 3 are much better floor leaders than Farmar

Just because he talks alot on the floor doesn't mean he is a great leader.

TP, DW and CP3 are all better leaders in the way they play and make a team unit, instead of just a group of individuals.

To me Derron Williams is the greater leader on the floor but i love how CP plays, so quick and such a great assist man.

I'd take Mike Conley, Parker though has the runs on the board out of those 3 but he's not that young anymore.

im a massive conley fan and he may become better although it would be hard

what he has got that others dont have is the use of both hands , he is pretty much ampidexturous (sp?)

I like him too, but no way in the world I pick him before Deron or Paul.

Last season you could have made the case for Deron but everything points in CP3 favour this year.

Some other good young pg's
- Jose Calderon (TJ Ford is gone, his ego wont let him be back-up in Toronto.)
- Kyle Lowry (to good to play second-fiddle to Mike Conley)
- Sergio Rodriguez

Also keep an eye out for Ramon Sessions at Milwaukee

CP3: 6 PTS (3-11 FG), 4 REBS, 6 ASTS, 1 STL, 5 TO'S
DERON: 29PTS (11-13 FG), 3 REBS, 11 ASTS, 1 STL, 3 TO'S

As always, Williams is much more big time when it comes to raised play than CP3. I'd still take Williams over Paul even this season.
