Beware, Gifty is back

THE smile on the face of Glenn Stewart is returning and watch for a return to his best form against the powerhouse New Zealand Warriors at Brookvale Oval on Sunday.
The Sea Eagles international backrower has been the forgotten victim in recent weeks in the turmoil surrounding younger brother Brett.
Think of the two closest brothers you know and multiply it by 10 and you will have some idea of the relationship between the two.
From the time Brett was diagnosed as a type one diabetic at the age of 13, Glenn has been by his side.
He watched over and supported him as Brett learned to live with his problem. Glenn was always the brother of the more brilliant Stewart and that has never fazed him.
In the past two years Glenn has blossomed into one of the top backrowers in the game and won his green and gold jersey before representing his state.
There has been a sadness surrounding Glenn in recent times as he and his amazingly closeknit family have rallied around Brett.
He has been so supportive of his brother that he has probably neglected himself to a large extent.
He has shown signs at training this week that the best way to thank the people who stop him in the street and pledge their support to the family is to play his role in a home win on Sunday.
A fit and keen Glenn, playing at his best, is paramount to Manly returning to form. In attack and defence he is highly influential to the team and a key member.
I know Glenn is ready to pull the boots on and go for broke tomorrow. This week - for the first time in a while - he strolled into my office and challenged me to a game of two-handed five hundred.
Its a ritual he has before most big games. He whacked me in quick time and then walked out with a grin from ear to ear. Giftys back!
