Just saw Reg Reagan on the Footy Show.

Has anyone considered the possibility Bird has an ego problem because he was mentored by Matthew Johns?

I think Birdy does have a bit of an ego problem.

When you've been Australian Scoolboy's captain and then thrown into first grade at such a young age with people saying you'll play for Australia one day I can understand how it might go to his head.

IMO though, I think the events of the last week or so will bring him back into line and make him realise a few things. While it seems to be a low point in his career, it may just be what he needed to wake up to reality.

Keep working Birdy.....see ya in 10 weeks bigger and better!! :D

fin. it seems we just can't get these fish to win anything huh?
Same problems with both. They can never get the complete outfit.
For years when they had Marino they never had a star running back. & when they did, their defensive teams was shyte.
It would be good to gettem both away in the same year huh?

I remember ready an article by Matty Johns, saying that Bird had a 'swagger' when he arrived at the Sharks.

Surely confidence and ego are an important element of a first grade players make up?

If he did have an ego problem it has certainly been brought down to earth. He was as humble as possible in his Fox sports interview and rightly so. I think I agree with alot of the sentiments on here. He will come back better.

McSharkie he's got 10 weeks to watch and see if someone comes up better than him in the 5/8 role, maybe even a desperate ShireShark can strap the boots on and make the 5/8 position his.
