Aparently we were but like I said at the time he announced, teams like Leeds and Warrington don't need big money back rowers, even if they are at Ellis' calibre. It makes the comp stronger anyway. And Cas will have wanted him but I doubt they'd be able to afford him. Maybe in a few years time for 1 last year

Bit of a back handed insult to Castleford.

"I said originally that I would maybe like to return to one of my old clubs or my hometown club in Castleford but when I looked at it and thought about it more, I realised I still really wanted to win things and achieve things and I really believe I can do that at Hull FC."

Not convinced he's in any better position to win anything at Hull in the next three years, but good luck to him. Money clearly a factor.

He's definitely in a better position to win things at Hull than Castleford. Signing for Cas at this point would be pretty much like signing his career away.

I like that back row of
13. Westerman
12. Tickle
11. Ellis
With Willie Manu coming off the bench for impact.

Nice. I'm a fan of the league more than a team but for some reason I've always had a soft spot for Hull FC.

I agree with the above, great back row. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Gareth used as a middle man more than on the edges as his playing days wind down. Maybe even at 13 with Westerman and Tickle on the edges.

really thought he would give cas a go. Should give Hull that little bit extra to compete with wire, wigwam.... consistently

Good signing for them.

I think they are upto salary cap level this year so does that mean some big earners are leaving?

I don't know the details of the Hull squad so don't know who is set to go.

Funny comments about Cas. Basically, 'I was gonna join you, but your a bit rubbish'.

Glad Warrington didn't sign him, we need to start giving out the cash to the younger players. Of which we have a few that may need upgrades in the near future.

Under Agar Hull didn't promote any youngsters to the first team squad in the numbers they should have so that's not one of thier immediate problems.
