Freddys blurred vision
ROOSTERS coach Brad Fittler should have been fined by the NRL this week after some bizarre comments about Brett Stewart.
On an interview aired on the NRLs official website, Fittler was asked by host John Gibbs if Stewart should have played against the Bulldogs.
By the sound of it, he might have been too pissed, Fittler replied.
Charming.
Freddy then confirmed hes seriously out of touch with another strange line as he answered questions about why he endorsed a drink by his own club during the week, given the circumstances surrounding the code.
In hindsight, what happened to Brett Stewart seems pretty severe, given everything and how all the charges were dropped, Fittler said.
Apparently, Fittler got confused and thought the reported inconclusive DNA testing on Stewart meant the player was cleared. He later recanted his words.
More fallout
WE hear one senior Sea Eagle and a club official are no longer on speaking terms.
The pair had a run in during the week and its unlikely they will ever speak again.
The on-going dramas circling the club are to blame for their fall-out.
Good call, Kerry
IT appears Sea Eagles board member Kerry Sibraa was the voice of reason behind this weeks meeting being postponed.
With two back-to-back home games, the club simply wants to focus on footy.
Club officials feared there would be more blood on the carpet if the meeting went ahead, so they decided to can it. Fair call, but who really believes a meeting on April Fools Day will put an end to the in-fighting? Not us.
Help out there
THERES some strange cats out there and it seems Geoff Bellew is meeting them all.
We hear the Sea Eagles lawyer has had all sorts ringing him up offering advice on how to handle the Brett Stewart case, including one from a psychic.
Rest assured, Snakes in good hands.
Bit players
KEEP an eye out for Warringah trio Pingi Talaapitaga and John and Maurice Kennedy playing bit roles on Home and Away.
The boys were part of the Summer Bay Stingrays playing at Rat Park. We are told Pingi has a future on the small screen.
The Marlins will also be on the box when they open their Shute Shield season against Eastwood at T G Millner Field on March 28.
Warringah hit the screens in round two against Randwick at Pittwater Park.
Budding comedian
GOOD to see Manly prop George Rose has lost none of his dry wit after making a successful return for the Sea Eagles last weekend.
Rose, who broke his leg in May 2007, came through unscathed in the premiers first- round loss to the Dogs.
When asked if the dramas surrounding the club made it tough on the players on Saturday night, Rosey said:
I guess the weather didnt really help.
As straight as Simon Katichs bat.
Good news week
HERES some off-field news on the Sea Eagles which is clearly not bad. Congratulations to Kylie and Glenn Hall with the pair announcing a honeymoon baby this week.
The baby is due around June.
