Its true. He said he would have loved to coach @ the tiges but the never gave him an oppurtunity. He also said that on 3 occasions he nearly left Balmain for Manly in his playing days!

that would mean he is gone from 2gb wouldnt he?

I doubt he would leave 2GB.

He can still comentate look at others who have coaching roles or administration roles at other clubs Taylor, Alexander, Freeman and Daley to say the least.

Blocker will be a part time forwards coach, so i'd assume he will continue on at 2GB

That's a shame...i wish he would leave Hadley and his pack of geese!

Just another example of Balmain & Wests Tigers stupidity. The man was a great defensive coach & is the right age for mentoring as the 16-18 year olds would know exactly who he is........ Instead he goes and coaches for a different club

The club is a comedy of errors..... what's next? Ask Alan Jones to coach again? or Maybe Darren Clarke deserves another go?

I would hate to have to record the errors the JV has made in its first four seasons.......... maybe i should start a thread.

How about a few facts?
Was Blocker a great defensive coach? Who did he coach and when?
How much did he want?
Is he better than the coaches we have now?

Blacker - forwards coach for (i think) the last two years of balmain and (i'm certain) the first year of the wests tigers

compare our forward quality then and since

I think thats facts enough

Villasanti, O'Donnell and Galea all emerged when Blocker, among other ex tiger forwards, had some involvement with the club.

compare o'donnel and galea in 99-2000 to o'donnel and galea in 2003

the only forward that is still at the club from those times that i would say has improved is o'neill

he was always good but i'm the first to admit that its under sheens that he has finally shown his real potential
