My daughter is currently travelling Europe and will be doing so for possibly 2 years - Anyway, my question is - she has been writing her own blog about her journies and experiences - what I am wanting to do is convert that blog into a book type thing for her upon her return.
.
I have absolutely NO idea on even where to start - other than to print out the pages of her blog - but where would I look or who would i see about the conversion ????

you'll need some one to write the book, a trained author if you cant do it yourself

then you need a publisher to sell it to but the publishers will only look at the finished product which means it will have to be professionally written as there are certain formats that stories need to take to be saleable

if there is no romance and it just s doco, then you've probably taken about 70 or 80% of the market out of play

Although, if you are just talking about printing it for your own small scale distribution, just talk to any design agency in your town to design and print it. There are online services that do it as well, but you get next to no control over it.

and if you are going to do what Coby has suggested, at least get a professorial to read it first so you dont pour your money down the drain

If it's just for her, family and close ones, whar Coby said is the best choice.

My girlfriend had a few done up in China. The first looked shit, the last few were pretty cool. Not a bad way of keeping memories.

If you just want a hard copy of the blog, print it out then go to Officeworks as they will be able to bind it for you.

I don't know why people are giving you advice on how to get it published and distributed. From reading your post, it sounds like you just wanted a single copy of her blog in hard copy as a welcome home gift for her.

In that case, Coby has the right idea. No need to spend a fortune on getting it professionally edited and hiring literary agents if it's just a family gift

Tell your daughter to keep an online blog, that way the whole thing won't need to be written again. All that will need to be done is proof-reading and publishing. May I suggest email, or even a MS Word doco that she just updates everyday? That will be the best and easiest way in my opinion.

I believe that he's said she's already keeping a blog.

Fire's said what I'd do. There are online places that might do it a little prettier, but you pay for the privilege.
