Bloody censorship - Hannibal

I watched Hannibal for the first time tonight, and had heard about the brain eating scene at the end, and how it was such a gross and memorable climax to the movie...but that scene was totally edited out.
The final scene in the plane where he makes the kid eat the piece of brain makes no sense due to the earlier brain eating scene being cut.
Was it really too disgusting to show on TV? Even at midnight on a school night?

It's not that bad really. The worst thing about Hannibal is its atrocious plot, lol.

Did they show the bit where the guy falls from the window and his intestines and guts fall out?

I'm astounded at the lack of censorship these days - I remember only a handful of years ago when there were appaling chops in movies to remove any "fruity" words, to the point where the scene jumped around - nowadays almost anything goes.

They showed the guy strapped to the chair and being hanged. Didn't see any guts though.

I have it on dvd. Worst movie I own
Your not half wrong there. I read the book first which was pretty good , the movie stuck to the story but it was just shite . The brain eating scene looks as fake as.

Red dragon was better but neither have anything on Silenece of the lambs in my opinion.

I hadn't seen it before, or Silence of the Lambs, but i was thoroughly disappointed.. why bother showing it if they're going to censor out all these parts of it?!

Sheesh...

The brain seen wasn't really disgusting at all. Actually quite funny...

I thought it was funny as well. Poor old Ray Liotta having his brains fed to him after being pan fried.

It was crap imo and I liked Manhunter better than Red Dragon too.

Why they kept calling Red Dragon a prequel had me stuffed when it was just a remake.

Red Dragon was almost a scene-for-scene remake of Manhunter - it wasn't as though they'd even gone back to the book to re-interpret the text. It was a little bit slow for me though, I preferred Red Dragon.

I think Red Dragon was the better of the three, personally, but it was also the first I saw. My ex girlfriend had the idea to see the 'prequal', then go back to her place and watch Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.

I prefer Edward Norton as a protagonist to Jodie Foster, which also helped, I guess.

So much worse now than several years ago. Now all the Labor appointed censors are off the board and they're all Liberal censors.

So many movies now have scenes cut out or banned entirely.
