Blue Sox financial strife

It looks like the Halifax Blue Sox are once more facing a financial crisis They have sent letters to all supporters on the club's database which state that the club needs an immediate cash injection in order for the Blue Sox to survive the next three months. The club hasset up a lifeline with the aim of raising a minimum of £100,000. If they reach that target the club will manage too see out the rest of the season, but the long term future for the club would still be in serious doubt.
The problem is understood to stem from the delayed sale of Halifax's old Thrum Hall stadium to supermarket chain Asda. The money from that is now not due until October, and much of it has been earmarked to fund the completion of the New Shay Stadium, where building work on the new east stand has been halted. Any remaining money from the Asda deal would be used to pay off existing debts and personal loans taken out by directors.
Concerned Blue Sox players are understood to have demanded a meeting with the club's board of directors.
