Blues fullback incumbent

I recently saw somebody call brett stewart australias 4th choice fullback, which I disagreed with that harsh rating, but it got me thinking about NSW. NSW tend to almost always go with the incumbent, but who is incumbent? Brett stewart named and played fullback games 1+2, but in game 3 was named fullback but played off the bench and gidley started fullback. Who is considered incumbent? It has been too long now, so did gidley do anything worth his promotion (and stewarts demotion)?

As a completely unbiased Penrith supporter, I think Stewart is way ahead of Gidley as a fullback (obviously Gidley is the more versatile). If Mini could string half a season together I think he could still be Australia's first choice. I also think Zillman and Coote could be offerring good competition in a couple years time.
