Board meeting with Anderson

As a supervisor of staff I'm required to do exactly the same thing. I was wondering when someone was going to bring that up....

We had a staff member stealing stuff. He pinched so much stuff it wasn't even funny. We couldn't prove 1% of it, yet we knew it was him. When finally caught RED HANDED, I had to write him a warning on this... more stuff went, and I'm talking $300 power saws, $600 impact drills etc the whole time. We finally busted him RED HANDED a second time. The cops would do nothing either... :?

I wasn't going to give him a 3rd chance, as he had alread pinched about $12k worth of stuff, so I sacked him...

To cut a long story short, he went the way of unfair dismisal and we ended up paying him another $2k ontop of his allowed and allocated pay when dismissed!! :shock:

Crazy stuff!! Between that experience, the "incoming" GST and BOB CARR, my oldman threw his hands in the air and shut the buisness down and retired!!

as stupid as it sounds you would be expected to take reasonably steps to stop the guy from stealing (sacking him sounds like a good one to me) perhaps some counselling restricted or supervised access to equipment etc etc, then a time frame for him to stop, repeat the process 3 times then you can sack him.

True BTR but the club will have to work out whether it is worth the $1.8m to pay him out or to hope and pray we don't make the 8 next year.

You all know I have supported Ando the whole time, but I think now the writing is on the wall and things will only get worse before they get better.

As I said to a mate this afternoon, all the successfull coaches who have been at the sharks (should I say successfull at other clubs) a no-name will come in and take us to glory. My prediction is that Raper (Obviously there for a reason) will come in either 2004 but more likely 2005 take one year to get "Cronulla" Back and take us all the way in 2006

Marty, it was you, and I changed it after Frenzy pointed it out...

Believe me, the whole thing was a joke when you apply the moronic "unfair dismisal" laws to it, and you would have to have had someone watching him the whole time... all this stuff went missing in a month of employing him.

I begged my oldman to let me take him out side and beat the f**k out of him, the first time, rather than write some stupid letter to him, or better still push him from the 28th floor of the building we were working on, as we put the Handrails up on the edge of the balcony... he had a harness on guys before you freak out, But I then would have pulled out my Knife and threatened to cut his safety line if he stole anything again... ;-)

Anyway, a business that turned over $3m+ a year and hired 16-20 ppl was shut down because of arseholes like him and other added factors that made my oldman snap and throw the towel in!

As I said crazy. Should have said that he grabbed you on the arse and got him for sexual harassment. That is the one exception. I copped it once for having a conversation on the phone with my wife and a female staff member overheard and complained to the management. I was gone faster than a speeding bullet.

Things is I feel/believe it will be Raper that will take us to glory. I liken it to a situation at work. I am being the bad guy in a very difficult family situation for a client, which is causing a whole lot of garbage for all concerned and me as well, things is I have already quit (We are moving to Brisbane) and leave in December, which gives me time to sort out the rubbish be the bad guy and cop all the blame only to have my replacement come in a share in the good times.

I feel Ando is doing/making all the hard calls, getting crap for it with some more to come. then a new coach (insert Raper) will come in pick up the pieces and enjoy the good times.

Well that's my theory and I hope it comes true
