I found this interesting snippet in the "Sin Bin" section of SMH this Friday:

BIRTHDAY BLUES: Happy 28th birthday to the young lady at the centre of the Blues' voicemail controversy. She is having a party at a new Kings Cross venue this weekend and has invited a few current and retired NRL stars. But Sin Bin hears they are boycotting festivities in protest at her role in the sacking of two players and the fining of five before Origin I.

Reading between the lines - the chick who didn't fire up seems to be fairly close to a number of NRL identities

It is a different context if the message was for a random person or a friend

If someone rang you and left that message once, and they were just average Joes would you report them to the police? Or to their places of work? I doubt it. THAT'S what gives me the shits.

My girlfriend can't believe the fuss made over this phone call. She said she'd laugh it off as a stupid drunken prank. She said that her opinion of the callers would plummit, but that's about it
