Currently reading this book by Richard de la Riviere (?) and must say i find it a good read on GB / England RL fortunes of the period it covers.

No sugar coating nor destructive criticism - just an honest appraisal of the international game.

Provides a good insight into RL in England from the 80's onwards and the issues it faces.

Any insights on how it was received in England ?

I bought it on-line via Booktopia or FishPond.
.
Genuinely enjoyable read and provides answers to a lot of questions i've had in regards to the game in England.

The switch to summer rugby league being of interest. Did my own informal research in the bars during the last World Cup. Apart from some blokes from Halifax most were happy with the change.
