We really should have a thread to discuss all things boxing. Maybe this could be it.

Anyways, they had Geale and Mundine on Wide World of Sports this morning and f**k was Mundine a hard to listen to. Had to stop watching after a minute.

Just finished watching the Garcia v Morales and Brook v Salvidia cards. I'll be very surprised if we ever see Morales again. He's probably still looking for his head. The Quillen/N’Jikam fight on the undercard was a beauty. N’Jikam showed a heap of heart and was unlucky to lose.

Kell Brook is one of my fav fighters atm and probably the best of the Poms and is a chance to beat Devon Alexander for the title. Brooks win over Salvidia is one of the few jab ko's we see in boxing. Not a way I like to see fights end but still a good showing by Brook nonetheless.

Good thread royce10.

R.I.P. to Emanuel Steward also. I always think of those famous gold Kronk gym shorts when I think of him.

What to talk about...

1. Pacquiao and Marquez IV is on in December. Who knows what the result will be with Bob Arum involved.
2. I'm a little perplexed as to Bradley's next move. I don't think he has anything in the works.
3. Am a Nonito Donaire fan, and he had a win recently.
4. I hear young Kostya Tszyu's son is doing well in the amateurs (which is funny because I always remember Kostya stating he didn't want his son to box).

Love talking about the sweet science.

Who remembers Prince Naseem Hamed? Absolute knob, but was great to watch and great for the sport.

I remember him. He had some out there antics, but was a good fighter. Could've been one of the best in my opinion if he pulled his head in.

It was an awesome weekend of boxing courtesy of Showtime. No big names, but championship quality nonetheless.

1. I'm one of the very few that had Bradley winning the fight against Pac, and I don't really subscribe to the notion that Arum influences results. The interesting aspect to me with the Marquez fight is whether Pacman still has the fire. Cos if he doesn't show it here, then its gone.

3. Huge fan of Donaire also. Its expected that he'll face Abner Mares, who defended his IBF title in the weekend in an exciting fight. However, the fans want to see Mares fight Leo Santa Cruz who was on the undercard in another exciting fight. Their styles are so alike that I believe its a classic in the making. But either of them against Donaire would be a great fight.

On another card in which former Olympians were making their debuts or televised debuts the main event featured an exciting prospect in Gary Russell Jr. He has to have the fastest hands I've seen in recent memory, maybe even the fastest (don't hold me to that, but they're f**king fast!). He also has good power. You would expect him to be more of a boxer but instead he is all offense without being a slugger. Check him on Youtube, he's one to watch.
