It's time Walt puts Jesse down for good, he's carried him long enough.
Speaking to Hank..just not on

Gah!

I thought after last week's reveal, we'd be set for an explosive edition of BB. Instead, the show sort of took a step backwards and had Jesse co-operate with Hank after good ol' Saul intervened last time. I can understand why they did that, but I felt like this week just added a couple of spices to the mix as opposed to anything of real substance. That infact will come next week and I'm sure I'll be chomping at the bit by then.

I am so on edge during every episode.

I had this horrible feeling tonights would see a shock death of Jesse... Every time I think I have a vague idea what's going on it turns 180 on me.

Cant wait to find out about jesse's 'other way'

I believe he thinks Walt is trying to kill him (he thought the bald guy in the mall was an assassin). Might be a self-fulfilling prophecy with his threats against Walt's family.

My guess is he's going to try and get evidence that Walt is going to kill him.

It doesnt really clear him though.

Its just jesse's word, no evidence.

There is still the issue of Walt paying for Hank's medical bills , which partially backs up Walt's story.

Jesse knows (or at least thinks he knows) what he is doing. He tells Hank earlier in the episode that Walt has zero tolerance for threats. So his plan is going to involve trying to trick Walt into being dumb and reckless which Jesse knows he can be.

And after that beating Hank gave Jesse in season 2 or 3? Jesse could quickly switch his story up and say he is scared of Hank and he was forced into the fake confession.

Hank is using Jesse though springs. In fact there was a certain amount of dramatic irony at play where the only character who did want to help Jesse was Walt. Everyone else (including Hank) were fine with or actually wanted him to die.

In fact the only character who didn't express his desire to kill another character this episode was Walt.

I know that. I'm not taking it seriously. It was very obvious when Hank said that it didn't matter if Jesse died that Hank is just using him.

And as to 'helping Jesse', it's more like 'make Jesse not want to kill him'. And that 'job for Todd's uncle' thing at the end had killing Jesse all over it. Plus Walt seemed perfectly fine with killing Jesse at the start of the episode.

Walt's a merkin. Pure and simple.

If Walt really thought Jesse would do this then why wouldn't he just kill him like he did countless others who became a threat to him?

Walt has stuck his neck out time and time again for Jesse. He has manipulated him along the way, yes, but with the exception of poisoning Brock has he really done anything to anyone that didn't deserve it in some way?

And that 'job for Todd's uncle' thing at the end had killing Jesse all over it.
So?

Maybe you missed the scene where, after being given multiple chances to leave town and smooth things over, Jesse delivers a threat down the phone to Walt?

And haven't you been watching Breaking Bad long enough to know that this show doesn't really telegraph it's punches? What are the chances that Walt's call to Todd involves something else other than Jesse being killed?

Plus Walt seemed perfectly fine with killing Jesse at the start of the episode.
You don't know that. He may have had the gun for his own protection.

The whole point of the episode was to show that Walt, despite manipulating Jesse, genuinely cares for him and understands him almost as well as his own son. Look at his reaction to Skylar bringing it up (which in itself shows how far her character has regressed) and the fact that despite the creepy guy hanging around Walt actually did want to talk to Jesse and explain why he poisoned Brock.

Walt's a merkin. Pure and simple.
Why?
