I wonder how many fans know much about this man ?

I know of him and a few things he has to do with the club, but I was wondering what kind of profile he shares with other shark fans, if any, and what peoples impressions are of him ?

I think the lack of repsonse shows that as a group, we need to learn more about people involved in the running of our club.

We all talked about change and new boards and elections a little while ago, but if we don't know about who is around the power rooms at our club, how can we properly decide if we need change ?

I could have chosen any one of half a dozen names mate, the thing is, outside of Barry , who knows who else is on the board and what they are about ? where they came from etc etc ?

That's the point, it is run by one ticket and all we hear from is the chief of that ticket, Barry, it might as well be a one man board.

I know that Crowley is Barrys biggest challenge at the next election and is probably trying to sure up numbers from Barrys own ticket to get himself elected, it's called politics.

I see my grand daughter tonight watching a show from America called The Survivors and she was amazed at the schemes and backstabbing that went on on that show, it made me laugh as I watched it with her for the first time ( 10 minutes of it I could stand ! ) I thought, well Kelly, never go onto a board or up for election of public office when you grow up, because that TV show basically reflects most boards I have ever known !

Problem is not enough people can vote so the interest factor of getting to know rival tickets and their aims (usually bullsh!t anyway) are very low.

I know, youa re 100% right on that matter, but my point is, this fellow sits on the board CURRENTLY, along with a small bunch of other no names, faceless cronies who sit on our board.

Crowley

Doran

Barnett

Anderson

Gillard

Docking ( of course we all know him and his great service to the club, but how many have heard from him since being on the board ? )

How much do you know about these people Morph? If you know more then please share it with us. I for one am happy to admit that I know nothing about the current board, I am willing to learn though.

Current roles from IMT Holdings Limited (a publicly listed Australian company) website:

Brett Crowley
B Com, Dip Law, CA
Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer

Mr Crowley is a former partner of Ernst & Young in Hong Kong and Australia, being particularly involved in tax and corporate finance.

He has also worked outside the profession, having experience as managing director of an ASX-listed company and as an executive director of an investment bank. He is currently Chairman of ASX-listed Broadcast Services Australia Limited.

Mr Crowley has been closely involved in assisting companies in the commercialisation of water purification technologies, providing him with very relevant experience in the R&D, manufacture and licensing of technology.

Former Sharks player from mid-late 70s, mainly reserves but some first grade, ex Endeavour High boy (before it was a sports high school), mostly played hooker, yappy, cunning player. Mullane a co-director on the other company mentioned above that Brett chairs, BSA. 46-47 years old and last I heard of him some time back was family man with few kids that would be into teens now and lives in the shire with nice view of the Port.

All leagues club members can vote for their board. (the football club is a different story) Usually the weeks approaching the election u get bombarded with reading material which includes resumes.

On the big day the incumbents and hopefuls (or their troops) usually set up camp at the entrance to the carpark handing out leaflets/how to vote cards like any election. I'm pretty sure they can't tout for votes inside the club and must remain outside.

Crowley, as far as I know, is the only person on the board with any business acumen. Outside of that I know nothing.

It's good to see movements from S.Rogers, Crowley and Gow to try and get rid of Pierce and ridding the club of nepotism can only be a good thing. People talked of Anderson's nepotism but that's nothing compared to Barry!

Brett Crowley is a hard working member of the board from what I gather
and likes to keep a low profile. He is one of the few current board members
that I would like to see remain in coming years, just the type we need.
