Tough game coming up, in the grand final Re-match, against the current competition leaders. But Jets need a win to stay in the eight. We have beaten them at their home ground before and will have to do it again.

What do you guys reckon ?. If they play like they did last weekend against Manly, can we win this one ??!

If we play like we did against Manly, we'll be given a football lesson.

Last Saturday, Newtown seemed to have fallen into its usual Henson Park pattern of starting well, getting complacent and then mounting a fightback at the end. Parramatta has been the benchmark of the PL for a few years now. Their team may have undergone a few changes next year but they are still on top. We need to be nothing less than an 80 minute team to match them.

I agree Jeffles!

It seems to me that some of last year stars heads just aren't there.

Maybe they are disgruntled that it appears no matter what they do, they are no chance of being selected in first grade.

they have to perform before they can be expected to get a start in 1st grade. 20 min a game isn't what the Roosters need, then again either do Newtown, these guys need to realise consistency is the only way they will make there mark, as it stands so far this year there is not a Newtown player that could honestly say they deserve to get a crack at 1st grade

I agree, but I think Soward has been trying very hard!

As you say, he just needs to put 80 minutes together on a consistent basis!

If we make the 8 this year it will be more good luck than anything else, we have struggled all year as we are not playing 80 minutes only the first 10-20 minutes except against the Tigers.

That's a big inside call BB. Why do ya reckon things are this way ???. Has it something to do with the fact that the Roosters cannot win a game this season and are currently placed last, yet players still do not get a first grade run ??. Or maybe a spinoff from not having a Beam side ( and the passion that is now lacking from those players incentives etc ) . ??? What is your opinion as to why they are not playing as well when on paper they should be a better side and killing opposition teams ! Cause I am deadset wondering for one !!??

The team on paper is a top one but why is the $64 question, I doubt no JB is the answer though these guys are just struggling and trying too hard at times. Having JB does not meanlosing passion as if it were about passion for the club we would not have to pay them, I just know that currently we are struggling and every bit of fan support is needed to stick thick and work along with the players to get take the next step up.
The players are hurting and want to win to put their case forward to go up.

I don't think a lack of JB has anything to do with it.

I think the real reason is that players are getting frustrated that they are not getting a call up despite the Roosters having a few early losses. It's as though they're not registering on the radar and they get dejected. Of course playing worse doesn't help.

Anyway, we won today. Great goal line defence in the first half and some HUGE hits from Nigel Plum. Great to see the Jets back with the two points.

That being the case you would think they would try harder so that they could use this opportunity ( Roosters situation ) to take advantage of it and play harder, so they would stand out and be noticed. With Roosters playing some unlucky football at present, it is a golden opportunity to put ya case forward and make the first grade coach notice. Not sulk like some pussy solicitor.
