Canterbury v Brisbane
Telstra Stadium
Friday May 23, 7.30pm

Brisbane Broncos:
1: Darren Lockyer
2: Scott Minto
3: Brent Tate
4: Michael DeVere
5: Stuart Kelly
6: Ben Ikin
7: Shaun Berrigan
8: Shane Webcke
9: Richard Swain
10: Petero Civoniceva
11: Gorden Tallis (c)
12: Dane Carlaw
13: Tonie Carroll
Interchange:
14: Corey Parker
15: Andrew Gee
16: Brad Meyers
17: Casey McGuire

Richard Swain has described himself as a 50-50 chance of playing. Earlier in the week he was cleared of a broken ankle but the injury could still put him out of this match. The interesting part here is that if Swain fails to play it'll end his 146 consecutive game streak dating right back to the Hunter Mariners.
Webb and Seymour are also back from their injuries and are likely to play for the Clydesdales this week.

Canterbury Bulldogs:
1. Luke Pattern
2. Hazem El Masri
3. Nigel Vagana
4. Ben Harris
5. Matthew Utai
6. Braith Anasta
7. Brent Sherwin
8. Willie Mason
9. Adam Perry
10. Steve Price (c)
11. Glenn Huges
12. Andrew Ryan
13. Travis Norton
Interchange:
14. Corey Huges
15. Johnathan Thurston
16. Dennis Scott
17. Jamie Feeney

Thats an unchanged lineup from last week. Also Mark O'Meley is expected to return from injury in the next round for the Bulldogs.

Very impressive win by the Broncos. I really thought the Broncos didn't have a chance considering the opposition the Broncos have had and the recent form of the Bulldogs.

I'd still wait until after origin to see if they have a mortgage on the premiership.

They have a morgage on the premiership mate...don't you worry about that one.

Outstanding performance from the Bronc's to do away with the cheating scum from lebanese-kemba last night.

Top of the food chain baby

What a time to be a Broncos supporter.
That was one of the best performances from a Broncos side in years. We may not have the up in your face confrontation style of defence like the Roosters but our scrambling IMO is the best in the comp. If the guys can show that kind of commitment come finals time I think we're in with a shot at taking the thing out.

We're also travelling very well with injuries. I'm guessing Meyers and Tallis will be ok for next week. Seymour and Webb are back from injury and Prince has been getting his confidence back for the Clydesdales. Swain was 50/50 coming into this match and pulled out, I'm presuming its not too serious and he also should be ok for next week.

Then the best part of all, next week we're going back to the spiritual home of Queensland Rugby League. New stadiums mean big crowds and hopefully a revitalised footy team.

If we go into origin top of the table, injury free and with our new home ground and a string of games there on the home stretch then look out.

For the first time in a couple of years I'm believing we're contenders. The bar has been set...
