Went to the game on saturday, and as as a eagles fan i have to say we have the basis of a side that could be top four for the next 5 years with the halfs we have along with brett.
The depth we have is pretty good when young hopa gets picked for origin and we bring in the underated Robertson or Oldfield, also the backrow Trex is really starting to look good, the bloke i feel for is Buhrer a real talent only getting 25 minutes however with choc in origin he may start given his workrate.
The big thing that has blown me away our halfs DCE is starting to look just as good as Foran, he attacked the right edge where and he and killer where superb. Brett to me is looking more and more like a 2nd five eight, his try asist tally must be high. Wolfman is making it very hard to be left out of the side when a full strength he does lots of dirty work from kicks and makes lots of metres out of our own half.
This weekend is a massive game vs the cowboys sure they have no JT and matty scott, but still with the likes of dallas johnson, Bowen, Tariq Sims and glenn hall they will be no easy beats. A win here and top 2 a real chance.
The one thing i have to say after to being at a doggies home game is they are a really professional set up, certainly there is alot of money to be made with in all the extra alcohol, merchandising and food available at that venue. It would never work for us, but our ground issue and lack of movement on it is a concern, if brookie does not ever happen is a possible mulit use 25 thousand capacity at rat pack with maybe the waratahs looking at some home games there. The north shore of sydney needs a new stadium fitting to the rest of the grounds around the city.
