Bulldogs chasing Bowman

N.Q and a number of other NRL clubs are locked in a battle to secure the prized signature of one of the region's brightest young prospects. Winger Trevor Bowman is one of four youngsters from N.Q who played in the Australian Schoolboys team but the only one of the four not to have pledged his future to the Cowboys.
Bowman, Ashley Alberts, Steven Goodhew and Luke Harlen were in the Australian team which defeated the Great Britain Rugby League Acadmey and the French Schoolboys recently.
They were four of 12Kirwan High School students who represented Qld this year.
The Cowboys are keen to gain Bowman's signature, but the youngster has attracted keen interest from other NRL clubs.
Bowman scored two tries on Saturday against Great Britain and two more yesterday against the French.
It is understood the Bulldogs have the inside running in the chase for Bowman's signature. The other clubs believed to be chasing him are the Storm and the Dragons. Trevor also plays 5/8, centre and fullback.

Ohhhhhhhhhh bullshit.....sorry about the swearing. I nearly had kittens when you said Bowman - I thought you meant our gallant skipper - but it's bad news anyway.

Just before I start, I don't mind the Dogs, in fact they're probably my most favoured Sydney club. My brother goes to school with four future Dogs who got signed up at the recent Confraternary Shield competition in Yeppoon (a trip my brother pulled out off - you might have seen a mini-Bomber wearing blue and white!)

He sounds like a good kid and from the news from the Townsville comp (good work by the way) and from what Brett Harkin tells me, he sounds like a great little kid. I suppose he has to look out for his own future, but geez I hope he stays up here.

Cheers

Yes Bomber i know Trevor personally, having coached him in Townsville. I was talking to him before he went away with the Australian side and he said he wan't to stay here. But he reckons he will have better opportunities in Sydney.
Sorry about giving you a heart attack with the headline.
