Bunch of Dinosaurs

No Wonder the players look like they would rather be elsewhere most of the season. Teams these days have young and fresh coaching staff. Adrian Lamb, Steve Kearney, Brad Fittler, Ivan Cleary, David Fairleigh people young players may actually relate to. Even Bennett had the guts to punt all his dinosaur assistants at the end of 2005 and bring in a fresh appraoch.

At The Tigers we have

A Head Coach whose Successful days came when Guys like Marshall and Fulton were 2 and 3 years olds.

An Assistant Coach who took Penrith from one low to another eventually collecting a well deserved wooden spoon. Sacked in 2001, before mysteriously reappearing at Concord Oval in 2003. To be honest whenever the players talk about Royce it almost seems like they themselves treat him as a bit of a sidekick joke. A bloke employed to go for a beer on a Tuesday Night and tell his stories about football in the 70's. Benji and co must sit there riveted by these dinosaurs.

Peter Gentle coming over from a wonderful winning culture at Cronulla. WHo the hell is this guy going to inspire?

Arthur Kitinis and his wonderful winning experiences at Souths over the years.

Talk about a coaching dream team.

The whole clubs in a hole, a big black hole. The mix of players is all wrong for the way the game is played in 2007. The coach is to blame but is a protected speices in tiger land. He put the team togther.
The big worry is that its now impossible to turn things around in 2008. Their isnt the quality in the player market to fix our problems even if we could attract a half average player. Iam not sure Sheens has the people skills required in 2008 to bring the best out of players.
Anyway I think we need a big change a whole new coaching structure--but it wont happen

Exactly it won't happen because the management of the WT are dinosaurs cut from the same cloth. Noyce and Ronald.

Like Eddie said it is a young coach's game now. I would take any of the likes of Dymock, Lam, Fairliegh, Steven Kearney. We know what will happen. Sheens will move upstairs and Deputy Simmons will take over, thereby ensuring our attack becomes as pathetic as our defence has been whilst he has been here.

The upside is that people who 2 months ago were saying `Sheens is the man' are starting to come round. The wheels are turning and there will be some very tasty action at the AGM and over the airwaves over the upcoming off season

Like you said Eddie, Royce's sole achievement was winning Penriff the spoon on the back of some of the most disgraceful defence the modern game has seen (though he is attempting to surpass that at the minute). Within 2 year of giving him the arse they had won a comp. Royce is a knockabout and his football brain is limited at best. And like you say the players probably treat him as a bit of a joke.

And after the sh*t hit the fan on SUnday and before it hit it again last night, supercoach saw fit to go on a sponsor's harbour cruise on a yacht rather than coach the side on things like how to hold out the wooden spooners when 12 up with 8 to go.

Could not make the top half in the lowest comp of all time, where the team coming 3rd has a differential of minus a thousand.

Well done everyone at the tigers. Noyce, Ronald, Supercoach, Royce, Gentle and ela re arthur. A superb performance. And they'll ask for 150 to have a grand final lunch with these f**king clowns at the APIA Club. Out of touch f**ktards

Gentle would inspire more than enough people if he was given a prominent role. Many of the young guys at the club credit Gentle as being a massive influence on their career. His first run at the club resulted in a team of largely no name players turning their season around to get one game away from the grand final, largely based on passion. If the guy isn't the next coach of this side then something is indeed very wrong.

Gentle has had neither the coaching nor playing career to inspire any confidence. He is part of the garbage we are being served up now. As such, he should quickly follow ella re arthur, the gnome, shines, ronald out the door and be queuing up at centrelink. They are all ineptitude personified

Gentle didn't have the playing career because he broke his ankle and had to have his spleen removed, amongst other injuries. He doesn't have a coaching career because he hasn't been signed to First Grade yet. Gentle is a better coach than a number of First Grade coaches.

I saw it last season with a BRET side that should have shat the comp in and lost to a Manly side in the semis containing spastics like JP Cherry. Please

Ah yes, base his coaching ability on one game. I guess we can write off Bellamy and the Storm then. They blew everyone away last year and lost one game.

His turn around of the Magpies who had a similar number of players that had played First Grade to today's team is a prime example of why he should be the next coach of our First Grade side.
