Burgess eye gouge

Let’s think about this logically.

Hudson Young got a grade 3 dangerous contact (eye) charge. This was a lot worse, so at least a grade 4.

That’s a base of 700 points. Gurgess has one eye gouge and 3 other charges (for the benefit of the doubt we’ll say they’re non-similar) on his rap sheet, adding 350+140+140+140 points. This is another 770 points.

I don’t know how many carryover points he has, but it’s probably more than 30, which puts this at over 1500, or a 15 week holiday. With an early guilty plea, that’s 1125 points.

Any less than that and the NRL is kidding themselves.

The media (iirc The Sydney Morning Herald) have pointed out that Burgess' charge for gouging in the test last year will be a factor in any charge he gets from the NRL. Hence he will be looking at a +50% loading.

I think any loading gets cancelled out because it was Wobbie Fawaah though.

No one was injured? What if Farah gets an infection over the next week and loses his sight?
Do we then retrospectively suspend burgess.
Stupidest argument I’ve heard on here and I’ve seen the top ball threads.

If a player gets hit high but plays the next week, was he really injured? No suspension.

Eye gouging and spitting. Two low acts that should be f**ked off.

Any contact with the eyes in that manner. 10 weeks straight up. Next offence 20 weeks.

It was nothing more a facial that went wrong.

Robbies got as much chance of being hit by the bus that Cleary jumped out of than an eye infection.

Is he going to catch aids as well?

Ffs 2 weeks, no fine.

There's no such thing as a Grade 4 anymore FYI.

He's been sent straight to the judiciary so I'd say it's 8-10 weeks.

Burgess has been charged and it has been referred straight to the judiciary.

If it’s that serious (and I agree, it certainly is) then Adam Gee must face questions over why he didn’t send him off.

Absolutely ludicrous that such an act can result in the perpetrator staying on the field.

In any other grade of footy he would have been marched immediately. Why not the NRL?

the NRL have nailed this so far, a direct referral is absolutely the right thing
This should be a 10+ week suspension.

Accept your verbal beating and move on.

I had already young gimpy.

This is the problem with social media.

There’s a lot of on line circle-jerkinesh who abuse people who don’t agree with them.

It’s the same mental approach as George’s stupid muddleheaded facial.

Skeepe, I'd love them to get rid of putting things on report. Anything currently worthy of being on report now - should be an automatic 10 minutes in the bin or a send-off.
