Another good sign was that Burgess showed no "mug" in his game like Warrera Hargraves (sic) did against us.
He let his footballing abilities do the talking & to me that shows a lot of character for someone so young with so much football ahead of him.

Let's not shed too many tears about whether he could play NYC or not. This guy would be in first grade if he was 16.

Here's hoping the cricket season is a quick one.

He's born in 1988. He turns 21 this year.

Yep turns 21 on the 14th dec.

Which means he was 20yrs old for majority of this year which means he's eliagable to play for the NYC in season 2009.

Next season he will be 21 which means he can't play NYC next season.

Not hard to figure out when you stop and think.

He could be a hero.

In fact they could be heroes, bringing the greatest club in the world our next premiership

It will be the greatest come-back of all time. From cold stony death, to undisputed monarch of the rugby league world.

That is the dawn of another golden age.

An age when the name of Souths will be feared and respected, an age where we discuss the niceties of bench selection when we are 6 points clear at the top. For years and years.

And it will like the days of our fathers and grandfathers when not winning the comp was considered an "ordinary' year!

And we will stand proudly before the world as supporters and members.

Our time in this fugging game is upon us!

I say Let history be written!!

Do you want to live forever?!

Sam Burgess, this polite british kid, he wears the red and green.

Great try he scored but he f**ked up by throwing it to Thurston afterwards.

But yeah, I'm expecting him to do really good at Souths and if you guys do good he will play a major role in your success.

That was James Graham, not Burgess.

Both of the tries he scored were all class. The first try showed he had amazing footwork for a big fella and the second showed he knows how to run a hole. He will fit in nicely at the Bunnies for the next four years.

Only players born in 1989 or later were eligible for this year's NYC

The interesting thing is...hearing Andrew Webster this morning on the grill.

Sam Burgess is apparantly not that fit...as in conditioned.

He was saying if you see him up close, yeah he has a big frame, but the Aussie forwards as far as conditioning left him for dead, which is why its remarkable how good he is.

He basically said, give him 1-2 seasons with Australian conditioning, and the kid will be anything.

I tend to agree...although I really like James Graham.

Yes, he turns 21 this year. You are eligible for the age you are turning during the calendar year.

Ask Hindmarsh with only a couple of plays to go he got the ball & Burgess drove him back 5 Metres maybe if he was fit he have pushed him back 10m I'd take anything Webster said with a pinch of salt!

that was a big hit. Hindmarsh had said after they played them the first time that Burgess was quite. So he made him eat his words

"He showed me didn't he," said Australia backrower Nathan Hindmarsh, who dared label Burgess's first-up game against the Kangaroos just over a fortnight ago "quiet."

"I ran at him with the second last hit-up of the game and he picked me up and drove me.

"He's got a bit of skill and a bit of footwork and he's got good toe, it'll be interesting to see how he goes (in the NRL)."

He sure did show you Hindmarsh.
