Burress An Eagle?

New York Jets receiver Plaxico Burress is keen to fly the nest and join the Philadelphia Eagles when he hits free agency next month, WCAU reported Thursday.
Burress, who landed with the Jets on a one-year deal last year following his release from prison on gun charges, will become a free agent March 18.
The former Giants star, a hero in New York's Super Bowl victory over the Patriots in 2008, had 45 receptions for 612 yards and eight touchdowns during his 16 games in a Jets uniform last season.
The report claims Burress confirmed at Sunday's Giants-Patriots Super Bowl rematch that he "badly" wants to join the Eagles.
The move threatened to further damage the team's popularity rating, though, after Burress was named third on the Forbes list of America's most disliked athletes, two places behind Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

Was quality last season I thought.

Would be a good acquisition for the Eagles, and not an expensive one.

With a fit Michael Vick the Eagles are pretty dangerous, and would have blitzed that division last year I dare say

I love the way the Eagles have decided that they now want to be the Dallas Cowboys with their signings of 'personalities', criminals and 'Names'. Burress would be a perfect fit.

lol, Overated.

Remind me again? Did'nt the Eagles hit free agenty last year and sign up big?

Hmmmm.

I dont think signing a 35 year old Plaxico Buress would be legitimately able to be filed under "sign up big"

we will not compete for a SB until we have a genuine red zone target (not you Riley Cooper, or you Jason Avant). Plax would fit the bill.

Nor will we be a SB contender unless AR invests heavily in LB's this off season. To me that means franchising Jackson, trading him and Asante to free up cap space, going all out for a player like Curtis Lofton, and then using our 1st to replace Jackson (Floyd idealy) and 2 of our next picks on LB and safety.

Do that and the eagles are genuine contenders, not pretenders
