I don’t mind Moms. He’s been decent though he does have Paul Franze-like tendencies.

That being said, he’ll find it hard to get back into the starting side given Burton’s and Crichton’s current form.

Yeah, I didn't see our first four games or so, so I have haven't seen much of him. Just my first impressions.

We definitely won't. I have a feeling he will have a bit of a struggle next season.

Cronk last night said Sam Walker has mastered winning on the front foot but is yet to on the back foot.

Same applies to Burton. He will be halves when Cleary is in SOO. For the 1st game he will be half v WT. v Sharks ( If Cleary doesn't back up)

Even missing the 4 or 5 we will for SOO we should still start favourites and with our front row intact with Api give him the space to go well.

No such luck at Bulldogs next year

All of the high expectations Bulldogs fans have of him are not going to help either. If he doesn't hit the ground running, he will receive criticism pretty rapidly, unfortunately.

To be honest, I actually think he’s a better centre than half... not that think he’s not a great half, I just think his build lends itself more to the outside backs.

Hard to say with such a small sample size. He is the worst defender out of the 3 centres we have used but he is young so that is the same if he was in halves

Do you how contracts work? He'd have to do something like tank like Moses did. The Dogs have to chose to release him from his contract. He can't just say I want to stay and stay.
Actually, players can do this & have in the past. Typically clubs don't want players that dont't want to be there - it poisons the well. There is no need to tank - just having a mature discussion with club coach & management and then reaching an agreeable settlement.

Having said that, I don't think Burton will seek any sort of release. Breaking a deal doesn't seem to be his go (but I'm happy to be wrong in this instance ;)). Agree that he'd be worth a mint if still on the market now though.

The Tigers didn't let Moses go until he started tanking. Clubs generally let players who don't want to be there go but Dogs are always working it out of their own end. Burton's boot makes a dramatic difference to the rest of their team. So much so that he doesn't really need to do anything else to improve them.

They might keep him anyway just for that.

You're comparing Burton to Moses? That's night & day.

I expect Burton to be at the Dogs next year. I expect he'll improve the team although he'll largely be playing off the bacl foot (including his kicking game) until they invest in their forwards & hooker. I don't expect to ever see Burton tank.

In the imaginary land where Burton is not at the Dogs in 2022, I'd expect that Burton's manager has any conversations/settlements wrapped up before 1 November 2021 (so zero need to question the player's credibility regarding their performance).
