i'm currently in the market for a new amp. just wondering if theres anyone in the know here on the subject.

For now, i'm just after a head, which i'll be running through my randall combo (which has 2X12" celestions). im after a punk/pop rock friendly sound.

im looking to pay about $2500, and so far i've tested an Orange Rockverb50, a Bogner Alchemist 40, a Line 6 spidervalve, and a marshall jmc100. i'm currently leaning towards the Bogner.

i'll be playing a strat with JB humbucker through it.

any help greatly appreciated

This guy is the Aussie dealer.

The other guitarist in my band has one . It has the best sound I have ever heard.
I use a Marshall JCM900 which is good but his Rivera has heaps more warmth and fullness.
I have played through it with my Strat and it is way superior.
You can get so many different sounds out of them.
Super duper heavy to smooth clean Jazz.

Just ask a few guitar shop freaks if they know anything about them.
They usually will rave about them.

That website has heaps of vids and audio files that you can hear the sound.

I just bought a Peavey 6505 head and cab and I absolutley love it, but I dont think it's really in the category you are after. These new Bugeras seem to be getting some mixed reviews, they are dead cheap though, I even though about buying one as well just to try it out but...........................you know, $$$$$ and all.

Aaron I would recommend a Marshall TSL100... nice affordable amp with some good versatile sounds. Would probably suit rock/punk the best.
