$BW....would you take him?

Years ago, I'd have thrown the bankbook at him. Now, Im not so sure.

Positives
*The guy can still offload as well as any player in both codes.
*Still as strong as an ox, though he should run the ball more often.

Negatives
*Does not seem to be the most loyal player around.
*After years in union (which face it, is a softer sport for guys who play in the backline), I'd worry about his ability to get injuries.

Sum up
*I'd still want him at the tigs, but not throw the big dollars I'd have wanted my club to throw at him years ago.

No, he's another one of Mundine's puppets. Would demand big coin (we already have half a dozen players who are on large contracts, including 2 back rowers next year), and I wouldn't trust him to see out his contract. The negatives outweigh the positives in my book.

With a change of a management, most clubs would. I doubt he'd walk like he did at the Dogs again. If he did, he'd never be welcomed back no matter how much time passed.

If he was on a reasonable contract sure, great player regardless of all the bullshit.

No f***ing way. Tinkler and Bennett wouldn't have a bar of him. And our club motto is "to be the player other players want to play with". I'd rather have 13 Matt Hilders than 1 SBW. The guy is poison on a club's culture. The Knights admin didn't react too well either after Cory Patterson threw his lot in with Team Mundine.

Id like him back in the nrl.. money would be an issue id imagine..

He'd prob have to take a 50% pay cut to come back to the NRL..

Yes publicity alone would be a boon. Anything all blacks related and his face is all over it atm, so if his mug is going to be on tv i would rather it be with an NRL logo on the jersey he is wearing.

Plus he is a bloody good player and athlete.

That's the biggest hurdle. For $300k+? Hell no, you can't rely on him. $200k or less? I'd give him a run at least on a cheap deal.

Cory Patterson is a Muslim and has some aboriginal bloodlines.

He hasn't left the NZRU yet although that is looking likely after the World Cup (provided we win it). Tremondously talented player, however the associated sideshow with Anthony Mundine and boxing that come him mean I wouldn't want him with Saints.
