Surely they then decide to conduct a Bye 9's competition in 2024 where all the byes play off wearing weird jerseys for a bizarre trophy?

I for one welcome bye points at the moment.

It is also purely coincidental that I go for the Dragons who couldn't win a chook raffle at the moment.

It makes coaches look better, some of them need all the help they can get to keep their jobs!

piss it off. if i see a team on the ladder with 24pts, i assume it's the equivalent of 12 wins, not 10 and a couple of f**kin weekends off

It's essentially a tie break to keep the 4-7 sides ahead of the 4-8.
Only needs to be one point or change it to win percentage.

Why would you assume that when we've had byes for the last 17 years?

easier to calc for a start. and the rugby league seems to be the only sport I follow that awards competition points for non-play.

The BYE spilt round for SOO I should be replaced with a second rep weekend

And play SOO III on a Tuesday night

Or start the season on the 1st weekend in March rather than on the 2nd weekend

Yes. Penrith may reach the dizzy heights of 13th in a few weeks because of it. Keep it for this year at least.

couldn't give a rats arse about bye points.

i'm more p*ssed off that draws aren't seen as a f*cking legitimate result and the points shared.

and furthermore it assists in giving a more accurate ladder result at the end of the regular rounds.
