Getting started on the Canada Rugby League news for 2025:

Ontario
After expanding from 3 teams to 4 this year with the Travistock Trashpandas joining the competition, the Ontario Men's league is set to expand once again with the Ottawa Tigers and Durham Dawgs set to join.

The Ottawa Tigers are set to run both Men's and Women's teams, though it's unclear so far who the Women's side will play.

Las Vegas 9s
So far there is set to be 5 Canadian teams at the Las Vegas 9s in 2025, with the British Colombia Bulldogs set to send an U19s team together with the men and Pro-X Rugby Academy in Calgary, Alberta to enter a Women's team.

- Pro-X Rugby Academy (Women's)

World Series
The Canada Ravens have qualified for the 2025 Women's World Series and will face Fiji, Ireland and Nigeria for the last spot in the 2026 Women's World Cup.

The newly formed Ottawa Tigers will play their first game on February 16 when they face the Ontario Ospreys

Tigers have also confirmed that they won't take part in the Men's competition in 2025 (Durham Dawgs will), but will instead play a series of friendlies before joining in 2026.

The Ontario Rugby League is welcoming another new club, with the Royal City Goons from Guelph being formed.

This is pretty rapid expansion for a league which only had 3 clubs in 2023.
