Canterbury v Auckland

Went along to watch the match today. Canterbury hung in for about 35mins and were only down 12-6 at that point but Auckland always looked too big, too fast and too strong and ran away with the game 44-16 and the game was over as a contest just after halftime

The 2 starting props from Mt Albert were impressive, as were both of the Auckland centres who made a lot of powerful runs

Was a pretty good crowd on show as well, especially considering playing in the new stadium put $10 onto the old ticket price

The Auckland team was a rort anyway.
It was a Mt Albert/Glenora composite side.
The old farts at Auckland League fought to play a full Auckland District side (Auckland + Counties)
Yet there was only one player selected from Counties-Manukau player selected .. Atelea Nafetalai.

Dont they remember last year it was an otahuhu & howick grandfinal.
At the very least ..how can they not pick Darin Kingi?? he walked away from the Vulcans and playing fox footy.

Laughable...if you ask me.
But they were dumb enough to pick the same coach from the Auckland Zone side.

Both centre have plenty of Vulcans experience ..as do the two props.
