These odds have me confused. I like Fractional. He'll sit on the pace (doesn't appear to be much speed) and will do it easy from barrier 2. If he's left alone he'll be hard to run down. I've left the fav out... Both raced over 1400m last start with Fractional running just over half a second faster and won nicely. He's better at the weights by 6 kilos to the fav! How can he be $21? Anyway, I'll have some of it...

Friday Creek another that will go forward and appears to be the only other pace. Commemorating drops in class a lot on his last run and sure to figure. Expecting Belmonte and Prince Arthur to trouble the minors too.

Im with you Nuffs, Commerating...Has drawn barrier 1, has Glen Boss in the saddle and ran a great 5th in good grade last time out...

Racenet Preview -

Race 3 MCMILLANPRINT STAKES (1600m) at 1.05pm

Joice’s thoughts – May well be opening the shoulders again early in the day if the odds are right about Commemorating – anything over each-way odds will do. Drawn to get the run of the race from the inside gate with Boss to partner and is coming through the strongest form race of anything after finishing fifth behind Apache Cat in the Phar Lap Stakes (1500m). Not too much depth amongst his competitors and is on the improve.

Payne’s thoughts –I nearly fell off my chair when I saw Friday Creek top weight in a Carbine Club but then I looked down the list and realised he’s only 1kg above the bottom ones. I do have a query over him running the mile but I think he’s got a bit on these. Commemorating is improving with every run and his last effort when 5th (2.4L) behind Apache Cat in the Phar Lap was very good while is another galloper with a bit of upside and will be hard to hold out

Joice’s Tips – Commemorating (6), Commanding Victory (5), Zenarta (3)
Payne’s Tips – Friday Creek (1), Commemorating (6), Newport (11)
