How are Seattle looking this season ?

I used to run a tipping comp on the NFL called "The Seattle Seahawks for the Superbowl tipping Comp".

Best emblem, jerseys in the league.

Sad they dont play their traditonal rivals as much anymore. Nothing better than Seattle v Denver grudge matches. The hawks always lift for the donkeys....

Matt Hasselbeck has big things expected of him this season but in all honesty I dont know if he will live up to people's beliefs. He did put in a brilliant performance against the Chiefs on the weeked with 2 TD's 198 yards passing and 38 yards rushing from only 4 attempts but I still dont know if he has truely developed into the Quarterback people expect him to be.

Steven Alexander is another who you just never know what is going to come, last year I think everyone who saw it will remember his occasional massive days including his 4 rushing TD performance on Monday Night Football, but he is renowned for backing up a huge game with several average ones.

Koren Robinson and Darrell Jackson are both capable of big things at receiver as well, but their season relies 100% on whether Hasselbeck can get it right at QB. Jackson was quite dissapointing last season and only netted 4 receiving TDs, and when you consider K Robinson only managed 5 the Seahawks passing game has a lot of improving to do before it becomes a genuine force.

Seattle is going to have to face the re-invented Rams outfit twice this season and will also face the 9ers and Cards twice as part of the NFC western division, they should beat the Cards in the long run and if they click are more than capable of beating the 49ers who just never seem to live up to potential. I think a realistic predicition is that they will finish 2nd in the NFC West and just have to hope to get a wildcard spot for the playoffs.

The Broncos miss playing Seattle as well. Terrell Davis used to have a ball, some of his best rushing performances were against Seattle. I remember a 200yd day and then there was the big one, when he ran for over 170 to reach the 2000yd mark in 98. Not bad for a donkey. 8)

Yeah Seattle were always the weaker of the two teams but I remember winning a couple by a late field goal and geez it was good to knock over the Broncos. My brother followed the Broncos in the NRL so naturally went for Denver in the NFL so hence the donkey reference... :p

Seattle used to do it all with their main rushing man cant remember his name for the moment - always averaged about 1000 yds a season. Made up for their 2nd rate qtr backs through the mid-late 90's when I followed nfl pretty well.

Based on how they finished last season, I think the Seahawks are the dark horse for the NFC West. Hasselbeck and the rest of the Offence did pretty well. I just hope for the sake of all Seattle fans, that Ray Rhodes does a better job as Defensive Co-Ordinator than he did in Denver. I certainly would not be upset if Seattle got over the top of the 49ers and the Rams. 8)
