Just finished watching them on video. Two of the best games from England all year. Hull KR/Wire was certainly the highlight with a geat result in front of a good crowd and with some excellent tries scored but I think Leeds/Quins was a good game too. It was only that 10 minute period where Leeds scored four tries that separated them and all of Quins tries were very good. In fact I don't think I've seen two games with so many good tries for a long time. People wanted to bitch about the defence, especially in the Hull KR game but those people must be the biggest whingers on Earth. The attack was very good.

What made the games all the better was no Eddie and Stevo. John Kear and that southern bloke were spot on and even French and Davies - despite their constant f*ck ups and union mentions - weren't as bad as those two old women on Sky. It's so nice to watch an English game without hearing "what on Earth has he done?" "That's a T-R-Y I'll put my house on it" "That pass had a big red cross on it" "Deary me Eddie" etc from Stevo and "They're tough these rugby league players" when someone gets bloody nose from Eddie.

I think the "southern guy" you mention is Dave Woods and I'm sure that accent isn't a southern one . Leeds / Quins was spoiled for me by the three quick tries that for me all contained a forward pass . Sixteen points in a short space of time meant Quins were chasing the game when, if the officials had opened their eyes ,they could have been breathing down Leeds' necks .

Yes, it probably was Dave Woods. He's done a lot of soccer but he's also a RL man who learnt his trade with Radio Leeds before going on to Radio 5 then the tv coverage. He's also a part-time lecturer in media studies at Huddersfield University which is a totally useless bit of information.

Really enjoyed the HKR v Warrington game, good footy and great atmosphere.
I thought Scott Murrell should've been man of the match.
