It's nonsense to suggest that CC Bears are not in part a Sydney club, its also nonsense to suggest this is a weakness rather than a strength! It may be a slight weakness for existing Sydney clubs but for the sustainability of a Gosford based team it is probably essential.

North Shore/north Sydney based sponsors have come on board with the Central Coast Bears bid. Whether people like it or not, accept it or not they weren't bothered in sponsoring another team or rugby league in general for the last decade. This corporate hub is a positive for the Central Coast Bears who also have their fair share of Central Coast based businesses as sponsors too. Every bid has something unique about them, it's about time people accept that this is the unique thing about the CCBears. So to an extent you're right PR.

Not at all.

I'm just pointing out the double standards of the argument that the Central Coast Bears are not another Sydney team, but then in the next breath say that 70% of the people you claim to represent live in Sydney...

Meh? Considering we have teams based in the Eastern Suburbs labelling themselves as Sydney, teams based in 2 seperate regions that aren't even connected, teams based in Redfern playing out of Homebush, it really doesn't seem like that big of an issue.

fact - they are based entirely on the Central Coast.
fact - a large amount of people from Sydney will support them due to their history.

Forget the years in the wilderness, would anyone be questioning their ability to represent North Sydney and the CC, based entirely on the CC, if their original relocation was successful, as it should have been?

Isn't the whole point of relocation to have your cake and eat it too?

I dont disagree, but are they a (another) Sydney team or not?

Genuine question - I am surprised at the level of parochialism of businesses in Sydney if it is true that a NS based business wouldn't consider sponsoring a sporting organisation outside of its office base? I couldn't imagine a business in Mandurah wouldn't sponsor a team playing in Perth just because it had a different postcode? I can understand it if the business owner was a dyed in the wool Bears fan though. is that the case with these companies?

Not geographically which comes down to the whole dots of maps argument many have here. Demographically we incorporate a part of Sydney not represented, but geographically we are no where near being a Sydney side.

Yes and no, yes because sponsors see history of a brand as essential for their own promotion. Many of these top cats are Bears fans from yester year. The region never lost its support hub, it's always been there but obviously without a team it isn't seen very often.

So yes or no?

I just answered your question, can you read? Many people here push for a dots on maps approach, so geographically NO the CCBears aren't Sydney. But demographically due to sponsors and existing fans, we can say we also represent the north shore.

Perfect example is geographically Titans are a Gold coast team but demographically they have many fans in Brisbane and Ipswich, just like the Broncos. Geographical and demographical aspects for every team in the league are different. Souths play geographically in west Sydney but demographically their fan base is south Sydney etc.

Are the sponsors from North shore/north Sydney which the initial question by PR was referring too? Learn to read ffs.

And if you read the part of your drivel I quoted, its your claim that sponsors see history of a brand " as essential" to their own promotion...

The Titans with no history had no problems attracting a major Australian brand to sponsor them.

The initial question was about north Sydney based sponsors you numbnut and why they haven't sponsored an NRL team. The Titans main sponsor is Jetstar, an off take of Qantas. A QLD based company. READ things properly mate!

So your answer is yes and no.

Having your cake and eating it too.Best of both worlds etc.

No one is saying that Souths arent a Sydney team.

No one is saying souths isn't a Sydney team but they play in west Sydney and are based in south Sydney. Geo/demo difference right there buddy. Whilst I like arguing with you, you're going around in circles now because you're simply not reading things properly!

So is Qantas or Jetstar the QLd based company?
