No one is saying souths isn't a Sydney team but they play in west Sydney and are based in south Sydney. Geo/demo difference right there buddy. Whilst I like arguing with you, you're going around in circles now because you're simply not reading things properly!

You are geniused!

This whole point I am arguing with you is whether the Bears are Sydney based or not?????

You bring up South Sydney as some sort of point??

No one is disputing whether South Sydney is a Sydney based team or not!!

You need to buy yourself a clue...

I answered your question 3 bloody times and even gave you examples and I'm the geniused one?

I bring up souths to show a geographical and demographical difference albeit they are based in Sydney as one of these examples and you bring up titans sponsors who dont come from ns in relation to a north Sydney based sponsor question by PR and I'm the geniused one?

Dude you can't read. I'd tell you to buy a clue but you probably would misinterpret that as well. Gee wiz mate.

The Titans with no history had no problems attracting a major Australian brand to sponsor them.

Gee, moron, and that's going well.

Are the Titans, after 5-6 years, still asking the NRL for advances on grants because they are still struggling to fund operations? Are the sponsors lining up to put their name on the wooden spoon?

Good example, you idiot.

If you want to deathride something, just stand in front of the mirror. You'll see an idiot with no brain and no life. Fodder.

I posted the following on one of the CQ threads the other day, but the Bears haters have ignored it so far. Surely this shows to even the dumbest of them that arguing against the CC because we'll "steal other clubs' sponsors" is misinformed and inaccurate.

Sponsorship:
QR National (a pledged Principal sponsor already). They have sponsored QLD Reds approx 6.5 million over 5 years (before privatisation) and currently Newcastle Jets/Knights around $2million over 3 years.
Qr National already sponsored the Schools program last year & the Scholorship program (over $50,000 towards 12 juniors who applied). Also donated $50,000 for flood affected junior clubs in CQ last year.

Everyone harps on about how a CC team will rob other clubs of sponsors, without ever actually giving any examples of such, or showing which clubs will lose sponsorships due to our inclusion.

Doesn't this quote show how the CQ bid will directly affect Newcastle? Where is the outpouring of outrage from those who decried the CC as doing exactly what the CQ bid is hoping to do? It seems that it is ok for CQ to steal other clubs' sponsors, but all cry foul if the CC are introduced as they think the same will happen (without actually having any evidence to support their unfounded claims!).

QANTAS.. Queensland and Northern Territory Air Service. Sounds pretty Queensland to me. Didn't they just record an 83% profit loss?

Could have sworn I've seen a Qantas/Jetstar plane in every Australian major airport I have been in (and I've been in them all!). To suggest they are not a national company is stretch!

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...-to-catch-commissions-eye-20120218-1tft9.html

Former ARL boss John Quayle, the architect of the game's expansion in 1995 that saw the Reds admitted, believes the Central Coast Bears should be added as soon as possible.
He would like to see the commission add teams to the NRL in 2014.
And he is adamant the Bears, whose bid is spearheaded by former North Sydney star Greg Florimo, should be one of them.
''In the Central Coast, there are four key things that the league doesn't have to fund - travel, a stadium, finance and support,'' Quayle said. ''Back 20 years ago, they were four of my key criteria [in judging potential franchises]. That is all now in place.
''So if we're making the decision to expand, it seems a pretty simple one. If we are not extending an invitation for 2014 then we are giving other codes more time to win over the younger generation. Whether they expand to two or four or more teams, that's a decision for the league, not me.''

Well there we go - now he's 'come out' we can be extremely confident. John has tremendous influence where it counts - DG and the IC. Rebecca Wilson, partner of John Hartigan who also knows whats going on came out yesterday in favour of the Bears also.

Our opponents are a few clubs, their tame journos and lower level NRL staffers - our allies are those with power, experience and the ear of the decision makers.

Seems its not 'all' about TV after all.....but what would John Quayle know, right???

I think we need to nip this expansion debate in the bud. If we really want to know who the next teams to enter the NRL will be, we need to consult:

1) Paul the Octopus.

2) Moffo.

Then we can be certain.

When Quayle was calling the shots he expanded to Qld,Perth and NZ not CC. Actions speak louder than words.

That's because the North Sydney Bears relocating to the Central Coast was already in the pipeline and being discussed. Plans to move there started way back in the early 90's, years before ARL/Super League when the game was still known as the NSWRL. He knew what was happening.

Just ask Haynetrain. Whatever teams he picks for expansion will be cursed forever.

Do you dare...?

Can you provide a link to this claim?

Not a good example. IIRC, John Quayle was leader of the team that "promised" the Bears they would be safe if they moved to the Central Coast and then moved the goalposts to exclude them when they struck trouble.

For all that, JQ was a good leader apart from his naivety in dealings with Packer and his Sydney-centric mentality. If he's on your side, that's a good thing.
