I'd love to see the CC Bears back as much as anybody, they were well and truly betrayed in the War after they had shown more progressive thinking than any of the other Sydney clubs.why did they pick gosford ant not say other areas too?
gallop has said recently other areas could be applicable for the grant
However, I've not heard Gallop mention anywhere else but the CC for the $8M. If you have a link, I'd be glad to see it.
In any case, I thin that time has passed them by for all the reasons outlined above. Mostly, it is that they do not bring anything to the table in terms of expanding the revenue streams of the NRL and their best chance is if a Sydney team goes bust or merges. The only rider for me is that I've heard nought from Wellington since the three way shootout and I'd have to assume their bid is dead in the water. While SEQ is still a better option than CC, there is no bid on the table from there and the Bears could grab that spot if they're genuinely in a position to sieze the day. But I suspect a CC Bears bid is just wishful thinking on our part.
